Kurt leads the EffectX team with a broad scope of non-profit evaluation and consulting experience. As a consultant, he’s provided evaluation to organizations ranging from local community initiatives to the World Food Program. His background in professional philanthropy sheds light on interests of donors, and significant experience in fundraising and marketing gives him insider knowledge of non-profit organizational needs.
Kurt’s education includes a BS in Economics from The Colorado College, a Diploma in International Development from the University of London, and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Evaluation from Western Michigan University.
Kurt’s international professional experience includes conducting evaluations in Uganda, El Salvador, Kenya and London, site visits of World Vision programs in thirteen countries, and oversight of a vision film project in Tanzania. He has lived in London and Ecuador, with short-term stays in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

Lori brings a wide range of experience in the non-profit sector, including program design, group facilitation, and grant writing and management. An accredited facilitator, Lori’s work combines community-building and strategic program design to maximize effectiveness and promote social change.
Lori guides non-profits through a planning process that results in a ready-made template for grant proposals, specializing in collaborative projects with multiple stakeholders. In her most recent role, she served as program manager for a three-year grant facilitating web-based curriculum development. Earlier experience with a start-up nonprofit ranged broadly from program design to office build-out, hiring procedures to organizational communications.
Lori holds a BA in Spanish Literature from the Colorado College, and an MA in theology from King’s College London. Fluent in Spanish, she was raised in Argentina and continues to travel extensively.
